2013 · A false start
The only capture before 2024 is from August 2013, and it is not the site: the Wayback Machine stored an Internet Archive “Welcome to the US Petabox” placeholder in place of whatever www.codboys.com returned. Nothing is known about the domain’s use before 2024.
2024–2025 · Simply One Energy, under construction
From August 2024 to July 2025, across 497 captures of 163 URLs, every page on codboys.com returned the same thing: a WordPress maintenance screen — “Simply One Energy · Maintenance mode is on · Site will be available soon”, with the tagline “Dein Experte für Erneuerbare Energien” and a 2024 copyright. The site’s structure is known only from the URLs crawlers were given, which describe a German solar, storage and heat-pump installer with about twenty reference projects.
Why codboys?
The brand on the screen was Simply One Energy; the domain says codboys. The archived author archives are /author/codboys/, /author/devcodboys/ and /author/user3/, which suggests “codboys” was the handle of the people building the site and the domain was a development address rather than the company’s own. That is an inference from URLs, not a documented fact.
2026 · A new owner
The last capture is from July 20, 2025. The registration lapsed, and the domain was registered afresh on October 20, 2026 by its current owner, who has no connection to Simply One Energy or to whoever built its site. This site documents the record, redirects every old address to the page that describes it, and installs nothing.
